The Udine Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Chambers of Pordenone, Gorizia, Trieste, the Region Friuli Venezia Giulia and the University of Udine – Faculty of Economy - intends to carry out an initiative to compare regional and trans-regional innovation systems, including the economic analysis of neighbouring regions such as Carinthia and Stiria; and countries such as Slovenia, Croatia, Czech Republic and Slovakia, with which the Region FVG has well-established relationships.

The initiative "Cross Border Meetings – Udine 2008: trans-regional cooperation to support innovation: best practices, opportunities and future challenges for the Euro-zone enlargement" will deal with the following topics: development and innovation policies, taxation, labour market, bureaucratic obstacles and support of Financial Institutions. The target is to identify effective proposals for the harmonization of economic systems, administrative simplification and trans-regional cooperation initiatives. The analysis will include topics such as best practices, difficulties and best projects.
