The EUROSYN project
The EUROSYN project (Improve innovation services for SMEs by enabling synergies between R&D&I European funds) was officially launched in October 2016. It has been funded by the HORIZON 2020 European program.
The partners are Friuli Innovazione (Italy), FTI Burgenland GmbH (Austria) and KEPA - Business & Cultural Development Centre (Greece), three innovation agencies supporting SMEs in their competitive development processes.
The project objective is to collaboratively address a common innovation support challenge: to peer-review public funds for R&D&I and support programs for SMEs in order to improve their use by enabling synergies between European structural funds, Horizon 2020 and other funds.
The Twinning Advanced Methodology will be applied in order to compare, evaluate and mutually transfer good practices (after having adapted them to the local situation) in the field of support services on funding opportunities to SMEs.
A Pilot Action will follow the peer review process. Fifteen companies coming from the three areas involved in the project will receive a personalized Innovation Audit: their R&D&I projects will be evaluated in order to provide the best financial support program at European, national and local level.
The final result of the EUROSYN project will be the DOP (Design Options Paper), a document to be considered as a guide/handbook for other agencies and business support centres to provide similar and/or more focused services on funding opportunities support in the R&D&I field.
