Domotica FVG

Domotica FVG is a project promoted by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region whose aim is to develop and distribute domotic systems to be applied in any environment. Domotics deals with the study of technologies aimed to improve the users’ quality of life at home and others environments (comfort), to reduce energy (savings), to improve reliability (security), to modernize monitoring equipment (communication) and to drive devices at home (control and management). Electronics and informatics are used for automation and control of processes with little performance and for system integration.

The project wants to build a network of cooperation for the research and development of new automation prototypes and planning ideas. At the same time it also accepts proposals in a way to integrate them with the availability of the territory and the hope of involving all present parties (businesses, research centres, Institutions, Universities…). It promotes technology transfer from other sectors to new applications but also regional, national and international projects.

Activities
These are the major activities of the DOMOTICA FVG project:

• monitoring of available products, processes and innovative methodology;

• promoting new complex projects by the matching of market demand and supply of innovation;
• feasibility studies, search for new partners, funding;
• distribution and transfer of products, processes and methods;

• dynamic database of innovations available for regional businesses.

These are the major themes of development for domotics include not only home but also other fields:

• telematics for connectivity: domestic communication (wireless) and inside-outside communication;

• energy, security and control systems: cogeneration systems, PV and/or thermal solar panels, fuel cells, sensors and actuators and energy-saving electricity management systems;

• application of innovative materials;

• lighting systems;
• health, safety and ergonomics: monitoring, healthcare systems and accessibility.

 

The strategy is to pursue both the aim of integratinig the technologies available in a competitive key as well as expanding the technology of domotics to the wider industrial world. Results expected are:

• research and pre-competitive development;

• visibility and promotion of one’s own products, processes and methods;

• technology transfer and research of innovative solutions;

• networking business-research-territory;

• support for project management;
• opportunities for research.
